Producer cooperation in wine production
The wine industry can only be successful in the long term with cooperation and integration, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy declared on Friday at the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Wine Competition and Professional Conference in Győrújbarát.
The head of the ministry emphasized that every drop of our wine contains the heart and soul, love, passion, virtue and ingenuity of the Hungarian winemakers. In addition to technology, this gives the “plus”, the spirit and true character of the wine. István Nagy explained that the tasks to be solved include automation that can replace labor, adaptation to changing climate conditions, and the issue of disproportionate environmental protection EU regulations that make production difficult. In addition to all of this, the task is to sell wine at a higher value on export markets, improve the sector’s profitability, follow consumer trends and appeal to young people in wine consumption, the minister listed.
István Nagy reminded us that HUF 1.8 billion was allocated from the Rural Development Program to support the promotion of Hungarian wine
In addition, the government provides a significant amount of resources, HUF 3 billion per year, for the national wine marketing program. Both with the aim of helping to promote Hungarian wines both at home and abroad, added the head of the ministry.
