Russian Unimilk to expand
According to Russian media reports the dairy producer Unimilk has acquired CJSC Tikhoretsky canned baby meat plant.
The company completed the buy-out of the Krasnodar-based
operation last week, which was a subsidiary of CJSC Myasokombinat Tikhoretsky,
in a deal thought to be worth US$20-30 million.
Unimilk was established in 2002 and has 29 dairies in Russia and two in the
Ukraine. It currently has a 15 pct share of the Russian dairy market. The
company bought the Tip-Top trademark from baby food producer the First Baby
Food Plant in September.
