Digital Hungary
We asked Sándor Bagdi, managing director of restaurant and hotel informatics system distributor UCS RKeepeR Kft., about current trends. Recent past and the present – Handheld order taking devices are more and more frequently used by restaurants. This way the kitchen can receive orders gradually and not more of them at once. Owners use online monitoring systems to check what is going on via their smartphones. Online food ordering – First every delivery company uses netpincér, but after the business starts booming they consider developing their own platform. However, in most cases this is only true for Budapest and other major cities. Smartphone booking, ordering and payment – Rarely available in Hungary at the moment, 95 percent of owners are simply busy trying to bring in guests. Restaurant smartphone apps – Only the biggest players can afford developing their own API, but in most case it isn’t necessary either.
