Milk sales at the supermarket chains
According to Világgazdaság, the Nielsen reported that the milk category within the sales of the chain of stores reached a turnover of 38.5 billion forints in the hypermarkets and supermarkets between December 2016 and November 2017, equivalent to 193 million liters of milk.
The market researcher also reported that although in value, growth was 9 percent compared to the same period of last year, a 5 percent drop occured in volume. The survey does not cover small shops, however, hypermarkets and supermarkets rule 51 percent and 49 percent of UHT or ESL and fresh milk sales. (vg.hu, Gyöngyösi Balázs)
