Technology development at Foodbox Kft
Vértesszőlős-based Foodbox Kft., which manufactures and distributes ready-made meals, implemented technological development and increased capacity from HUF 855.54 million, the company told MTI.
For the investment, the company won HUF 384.99 million in European Union support through the Economic Development and Innovation Operative Program Plusz.
In the project that ended in November last year, a machine line equipped with robotic technology was purchased, which reduces the plastic waste generated during the packaging of the company’s products and increases the production capacity, they wrote in the announcement.
Thanks to the new packaging process, 10-15 percent of the current workforce is sufficient to operate the machines, so two-shift production can also be started – they indicated.
The Hungarian-owned Foodbox Kft. was founded in 2011. The main activity of the company is the production and distribution of ready meals for retail units. Its partners in Hungary include the largest retail chains: Lidl, Spar, Auchan, Tesco and CBA. 4.2 million products were produced in 2021 and 4.7 million in 2022.
