Lidl’s wine sales continued to grow last year
Lidl Magyarország sold 23.7 million bottles of wine in 2019, thus maintaining and even further increasing its market share in both domestic and foreign wine sales.
By further strengthening its position as a leading wine exporter, the department store chain exported more than 5 billion HUF worth wines, accounting for almost 30 percent of total Hungarian bottled wine exports, while domestic sales jumped to record levels by selling nearly 12 million bottles. The aim of the company is to support the export activities of domestic wineries and to promote its position in foreign markets, in line with the government’s efforts.
