The beer market contracted further last year
Just like in 2008, the beer market kept shrinking in 2009, revealed GfK Hungária’s ConsumerScan, because the average household bought 6 percent less beer, 72 litres. 67 percent of Hungarian households bought beer last year, 5 percent less than in 2008. Beer in plastic bottles managed to improve their market share in terms of volume; canned beer was at 50 percent in the last couple of years, but in 2009 it managed to gain 6 percentage points.
