Last year, the GVH imposed a fine of more than 8 billion HUF
Last year, the Hungarian Competition Authority imposed a fine of 8.3 billion HUF. Fines for restrictive practices approach 3.4 billion HUF, and consumer protection fines reach nearly 4.9 billion HUF – the Competition Authority told MTI on Thursday.
According to GVH’s announcement, last year the Competition Authority fined consumer protection violations more severely than in previous years, so the amount of fines was higher than in cartel cases.
One year earlier, in 2018, consumer protection penalties amounted to 462 million HUF, while fines for restrictive practices exceeded 5 billion HUF. (MTI)
