The mayor of Debrecen is negotiating over the saving of the meat plant
Kósa Lajos is negotiating with the management of the Debreceni Csoport, in order to save the meat plant of the city. The Slovak-owned company closes the second factory in late June. The group told Világgazdaság, that they certainly do not wish to maintain the unit in Debrecen.
The Debreceni Csoport Húsipari Kft. announced that they will close the group's slaughterhouse and processing plant in Debrecen on the 1st of July, dismissing 395 workers. Szűcs Viktor, project director, responsible for the closure of the company told to Világgazdaság, that the municipality would like to find an investor, who may buy the meat plant. Currently there are no specific investors and the Debreceni Csoport has not received a takeover bid yet. According to he project director, the negotiations will continue. He stated, if there will not be other investors until the end of June, the group will close the plant and does not wish to continue operation – reports Világgazdaság Online.
