We all know that our life is one big learning process. It never ends and it doesn’t matter how old we are, we need to educate ourselves and remain open to changes in the world and our environment.

I started this year with an unusual workshop: I have been following the development of the Trade magazin staff for years. This year our workshop together focused on efficiency and change management. Sixteen people participated in the two-day session – many of them have been working together for decades. The first day started in gloomy winter weather and we needed an energising cup of coffee and leftover Christmas candies to get going. By the afternoon we could see clearer, identifying what the strengths and the areas needing improvement were.
On the second day we went to a special location, the Metro Gastro Academy in Budaörs. We took advantage of the situation and did a little POP communication audit, taking stock of the POS tools used, general communication and promotions. After the fieldwork participants prepared a three-course lunch with the help of an expert chef, which meant another challenge to overcome for the Trade magazine team.
My favourite part came after lunch: an individual, personal assessment of what I saw in these two days and how participants can make personal progress. This part is never compulsory, but I have learned that a sincere, helping word has great power and I had something new to say. We can say it was a good two days, we can be satisfied with the results, and the Trade magazin team started the year in January 2025 full of energy, which is good news for FMCG companies, managers and workers.
