Grey cattle burger from McDonald's
In the scope of the Hungarian weeks, McDonald's is offering grey cattle burger. The fast food chain has joined the promotional campaign lasting for several weeks at the request of the Ministry of Rural Development. During the campaign McDonald's will produce meat patties from cattle from the Hortobágy National Park.
McDonald's employs a number of Hungarian suppliers: chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, milk, egg, onion, honey, yogurt are all Hungarian materials. According to calculations; in the past 25 years, they bought materials for about 100 billion HUF in Hungary. Raw materials are also shipped to foreign restaurants. Last year, the volume of Hungarian chicken meat amounted to 6,500 tons, lettuce exceeded 1490 tons and 3 million domestic eggs were also used at the chain’s Hungarian and foreign units. (Index)
