Order food instead of room service – lángos is delivered to your home

Although it has not yet reached the level before the coronavirus pandemic, the number of both foreign trips to Hungary and multi-day domestic trips is increasing according to data from the Central Statistical Office, and spending has also increased. According to the foodora survey, this is also reflected in food orders. According to the company’s survey, the eating habits of visitors from abroad are changing in Budapest, Vienna and Prague, as more and more people are choosing to order food instead of traditional hotel meals.

Ordering instead of room service

It is becoming increasingly common for travelers arriving in Budapest to order their meals directly from their accommodation. According to foodora data, the number of orders placed to hotels or hostels has increased by 10 percent in the past year, and the continuous growth does not only indicate a seasonal fad.

Food ordered to accommodation fits well with the general food ordering trends: hamburgers are most often chosen, followed by pizza, and American, Hungarian and Italian cuisines are also popular. Most orders are received by foodora between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
