Cigars and cocktail cherries any time of the day
Continuous development, permanent adaptation of supply to demand, accuracy and constant accessibility are the key words in the philosophy of Finnker. – Our mission is to promote the culture of civilised alcohol and tobacco consumption, with everybody feeling happy in the process – says János Baár, owner and managing director of Finn Kereskedelmi Kft. When the company was established in 1989, the original objective was to provide the widest selection of expensive drinks for retailers, bars and restaurants. Later, they begun importing and manufacturing as well. By the mid 90’s, they have become the most important players in the brandy market. At present, the company has 4000–4500 products, with over seven hundred wines, a hundred rums and vodkas and a hundred and eighty whiskies among them. They also have a special department for cocktails, with products like Monin and Fabri syrups, Luciano cocktail cherries and all accessories as well. Furthermore, they carry 1,200 cigars and related products. Finnker uses all methods to find new partners. Their customer service is available 24 hours a day, like their showroom whit an enormous assortment. They have permanent promotions, like, 6+1 or 12+1 offers, or price promotions and also organise client meetings once or twice each year. – The secret behind our ability to keep our old clients is probably accuracy. It is very important for us to keep them continuously supplied and perfectly informed about our products and even possible substitutes for these – adds the managing director. – A lot of first class places have been opened recently, but we can also hear everybody complaining about the effects of the austerity measures reaching the HoReCa business. People tend to reduce their spending on going out first. This is a chain reaction. If bars and restaurants have fewer guests, they buy less from us. Life is not very easy for us – remarks János Baár, to end our conversation.
