Péter Szijjártó: Hungary received a meat export license to the Philippines
As a result of many years of persistent work, Hungarian companies have received a meat export license for the first time to the market of the Philippines – the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced in a Facebook post.
Péter Szijjártó reported that according to the decision of the government in Manila, six domestic companies can start the delivery of poultry and pork products and live animals to the fastest developing country in Southeast Asia.
“The market with more than 112 million inhabitants represents a huge opportunity for the Hungarian food industry”
he added.
The minister wrote: as a result of a series of negotiations, the Philippine animal health authorities visited the Hungarian sites and reported on excellent animal health and food safety results. Upon reaching the final decision, Hungarian companies will thus have the opportunity to export Hungarian meat products to the Philippines for the first time.
“There is still a lot of work to do, since after filling in the documentation gap, hopefully two more companies can join the current six exporters, and we can be sure that the excellent Hungarian products will only open up further opportunities for the Hungarian economy”
– announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in his post.
