Szijjártó: the government is launching another HUF 6.5 billion support program in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Hungary will launch another HUF 6.5 billion support program in Bosnia-Herzegovina from August 1st, within the framework of which producers can buy Hungarian agricultural equipment, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Wednesday in Banja Luka.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the head of the ministry emphasized in the administrative center of the Republika Srpska in Bosnia that Europe is facing the most serious security and economic challenges of the past decades, and that is why the development of further crises should be avoided. “We Hungarians are in a special geographical situation, Ukraine is our neighbor to the east and the Western Balkans to the south. Therefore, if anyone, we understand exactly how important it is to have peace and stability in the Western Balkans,” he warned. “That is why we are giving all the support we can to ensure that you can live in peace and stability in the Western Balkans. We can sum this up in two words: responsible neighborhood policy,” he added, and then stated that this is a result of a continuous dialogue based on mutual respect , as well as economic development. He underlined: Hungary also contributes to this by developing the local economy, which is why the government has announced a support program that is good for both the Bosnian Serb Republic and the Hungarian economy.
Local farmers can buy Hungarian machines
In the first round, HUF 4 billion in support was provided to 768 farmers in order to purchase HUF 6.5 billion worth of Hungarian-made agricultural machines and tools. “This was a successful tender, and it was a good decision to enter. After all, the agriculture of the Republic of Serbia is developing. And the Hungarian machine industry companies have found another very serious export market opportunity,” he pointed out. “Therefore, I am pleased to announce to you that, based on the agreement concluded with the President, the Hungarian government will start a new HUF 6.5 billion subsidy program starting August 1st, within the framework of which local Hungarian agricultural entrepreneurs can purchase tools and machines necessary for agricultural production and crop processing from manufacturers,” he said. “We support each purchase to the extent of 70 percent, we provide support of up to 25,000 euros per purchase,” informed the minister.
