Employers will be monitored more rigorously by the Employment Authority from March
In the course of official labour inspections starting after day 1 of the AP, employers will be monitored by the employment supervisory authority with slightly new, one shade, or rather two, stricter requirements than under previous legislation.
In the future, failure to notify will be judged more severely. The right to take action by the authorities will also be interestingly new, since in the case of unannounced employment by the tax authorities, the employment authority may also determine the existence of an 8-hour full-time employment relationship retroactively within 30 days of the commencement of the infringement. There will also be a new rule that an administrative penalty may be applied 3 years after the date of the offence, i.e. irrespective of the labour statute of limitations, if the infringement persists or a retraction takes place.
