The secret of the finest Hungarian poppy seeds is strictly guarded
The Zöldi Kertészet in Dunavecse has a hundred-year history. The great-grandparents of the five brothers who run the company today started farming in the 1920s, when they still grew sorrel, spinach and then rhubarb, which was taken to the Budapest Wholesale Market by boat on the Danube. Later, their children and grandchildren took over the family business, which is now in the careful hands of their grandchildren.
