The secret of the finest Hungarian poppy seeds is strictly guarded

Only the employees of the Zöldi Kertészet in Dunavecse know what makes their poppies so delicious, because the technology they use is a professional secret. Boasting a hundred-year history, the family-owned company is currently run by five brothers, with the goal of producing healthy, beautiful and truly tasty vegetables for consumers. Poppy is a curiosity in their offer, not only because of its taste, but also because many people do not even know that they produce poppy in Hungary.

The Zöldi Kertészet in Dunavecse has a hundred-year history. The great-grandparents of the five brothers who run the company today started farming in the 1920s, when they still grew sorrel, spinach and then rhubarb, which was taken to the Budapest Wholesale Market by boat on the Danube. Later, their children and grandchildren took over the family business, which is now in the careful hands of their grandchildren.
