Further sales decrease in FMCG retail in September
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) has reported: like-for-like retail volume sales were up 3% in September 2022; adjusted for calendar effects, the sales growth was also 3%. However, volume sales of grocery stores decreased by 2.8%, and food stores with a mixed-profile – these realise 75% of grocery retail – produced 3.3% lower volume sales. Food, drink and tobacco specialist shops saw their sales drop 1.1%. In the January-September 2022 period retail volume sales grew by 7.8% if adjusted for calendar effects. //
