Retail increased by 5.4 percent in September
In September, retail sales grew by 5.4 percent compared to the year before. The calendar effect adjusted year-on-year increase was 6.0 percent, according to a first estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH). In August retail sales grew by 4.7 percent, both according to the raw and calendar-effect adjusted data.
The volume of retail sales in stores selling techical goods increased by 12.5 percent, which has not seen since March, and sales in stores selling food and mixed items, increased by 2.7 percent, according to the calendar-adjusted data. The petrol stations’ traffic declined for the first time since March 2013, 0.5 percent below September last year. (MTI)
