Dairy product prices kept rising in September
In September 2017 consumer prices were 2.5 percent higher on average than in September 2016. Food prices rose 3.1 percent, with butter and spread prices jumping 16.5 percent. Pork’s price grew by 8.5 percent, cheese cost 9.5 percent more and bread became 5.9 percent more expensive. We had to pay 6 percent more for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products. Motor fuel prices were also up 5.3 percent and services cost 1.8 percent more. Compared with August 2017, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent. Food prices dropped 0.1 percent, butter and spread prices increased by 3.8 percent, milk’s price jumped 2.3 percent and cheese became 0.9 percent more expensive. Between January and September 2017 like-for-like consumer prices grew by 2.4 percent on average. //
