The import of Ukrainian grain should be prohibited even after September 15
The ban on the import of certain agricultural products from Ukraine to neighboring countries should be extended until September 15, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced on Thursday in Warsaw, at a joint press conference with his Polish official colleague, Robert Telus.

At the press conference following the bilateral talks, István Nagy praised the joint action of the five EU member states in the Ukrainian grain issue. Thanks to the joint enforcement of the will, “today we are able to protect our borders and farmers as a result of European Union measures, rather than national measures,” he pointed out. “However, this is all a temporary situation that is currently in place until September 15,” he added. They agreed with Minister Robert Telus that this deadline is too short, since, for example, the harvesting of corn still takes a lot of time, so they definitely want to get an extension – said István Nagy. He also announced that he asked his Polish colleague for a mandate to negotiate with the Turkish side on the opening of new grain export sea routes in addition to the existing three Black Sea ports.
