The 18th Coop Rally starts on September 11
This year’s Coop Rally will be held at a time when domestic food industry and trade companies have to deal with many challenges. In such a situation, the importance of cooperation and dialogue is even more appreciated, for which the event provides an excellent opportunity, said the XVIII. László Pekó, chairman of the board of CO-OP Hungary Zrt., at the Coop Rally national announcement press conference. The professional program, which focuses on high-quality Hungarian food production and products, with the participation of more than 100 domestic companies (Coop’s suppliers and business partners, as well as media companies) this year, has nearly 300 participants from six Eastern Hungarian food production companies and two member companies of the COOP Group will visit on September 11th and 12th.
“Both Europe and Hungary are going through a challenging period, economic actors still have to cope in a volatile and uncertain environment. All of this is true for the domestic food industry and trade sector, as well as for the actors that provide the basis of food supply,” said the XVIII. He is the chairman of the board of directors of CO-OP Hungary Zrt. at the national press conference announcing the Coop Rally. At the event held at the Ministry of Agriculture, László Pekó emphasized: in such a period, the importance of cooperation and dialogue is even more appreciated, for which the event provides an excellent opportunity.
László Pekó pointed out: since the establishment of the domestic trading group operating on a franchise basis almost 30 years ago, it has considered cooperation with domestic food manufacturers and the distribution of competitive Hungarian products as a strategic goal in its business policy. As a result, the proportion of domestic products in the stores of the chain has been stable for many years. During the production of its more than 900 own-brand products, Coop mainly cooperates with Hungarian suppliers, thanks to which the proportion of Hungarian products in this product range exceeds 90% in its stores.
