Spectacular growth
Increasing sales of decor cosmetics reflect growing demand for wellness. Retail sales expanded by 14 per cent in terms of value last year, bringing total annual sales to HUF 60 billion. Face and eye decor products are the largest segments, which both produced growth of 18 per cent last year. The mouth and nail segments produced expansion of 9 and 5 per cent respectively. The eye segment accounts for 37 per cent of the overall market, with 27 per cent for the face segment. The market share of private labels dropped from 9 to 8 per cent in terms of value last year. Average prices dropped in all segments in 2007.
