A revolutionary new development shows the employees’ carbon dioxide emissions in a customized way
The innovative Norwegian startup, Carbon Centrum’s new investor, can continue the development of CarbonID under the auspices of EIT InnoEnergy. The platform was created to autonomously track the CO2 emissions of company workers (Scope 3 emissions), creating the world’s first data-backed individual carbon ID.
The development of the Carbon Centrum, supported by EIT InnoEnergy, makes it possible to significantly change the environmental impact of companies by tracking the carbon footprint of employees. CarbonID primarily focuses on companies with a sustainability strategy. Including – but not limited to – the mobility, energy and retail sectors, where the companies employ more than 500 employees.
The platform works like fitness apps and registered team members can track their emissions through activities in the mobility, shopping and energy categories, which are automatically converted into footprints. With the help of CarbonID, users can learn environmentally friendly habits, reduce emissions, choose challenges, compete with their peers and start projects together with others, for which they receive various benefits in return.
Carbon Centrum will start its first pilot projects with CarbonID in the first quarter of 2024.
