Seklerland would also use the pálinka product name
Kovászna, Hargita and Maros counties in Székelyföld asks for the amendment of the pálinka law from the Hungarian government. They also want to use the pálinka product name.
The Hargita County Council adopted the principle at its extraordinary meeting on Monday evening of which the county joined to Kovászna county’s initiative.
Kovászna county’s petition recalled that according to the Hungarian pálinka law adopted in 2008, the pálinka designation can be used for the apricot distillates of four provinces in Austria and the fruit distillates of Hungary. (Gazda Árpád, MTI)
