More than a hundred ALDI stores saves groceries for those in need in cooperation with the Food Bank
In order to save food that is no longer marketed, but still suitable for consumption, ALDI Hungary has further expanded its partnership with the Hungarian Food Bank Association. The collaboration, launched in 2016, has reached another milestone, with more than 100 ALDI stores joining the program this year, with almost three-quarters of the chain’s stores supporting those in need with daily food donations.
In the first half of 2020, ALDI delivered 20 percent more food, or about 630 tons of food, to the affected families through the Association, compared to the same period of last year. In addition to the delivery of food, the store chain will also support the operative operation of the Food Bank with one million forints this year.
