Chinese tourists spent over one hundred billion USD last year
In 2012, the Chinese toursists spent the most during their journey abroad, surpassing the Germans and the Americans who are traditionally travelling a lot – shows the datas of the United Nations’ World Tourism Organisation, the UNWTO.
The Chinese spent 102 billion USD abroad last year, 41 percent more than in 2011, surpassing the Germans and the Americans (both 84 billion USD). It is interesting that in 2000, according to Chinese statistics only ten million Chinese travelled to abroad, while last year the number of Chinese travelling abroad is 83 million.
