Magyar Posta is preparing for the increased holiday traffic with 130 new vehicles
Magyar Posta expects to deliver more than 7 million packages during the holiday season, and to accommodate the increased traffic, 130 new vehicles will be put into service by the end of the year, the company informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statement, daily package traffic will increase by 30-40 percent during the Christmas period compared to the annual average, and the company’s own survey also showed that 82 percent of Hungarian internet users shop online.
In order to serve customers without interruption, Magyar Posta’s new fleet of 130 Volkswagen Crafter models is constantly in service throughout the country. The larger cargo space and advanced on-board systems of the cars, which also meet the most modern safety and environmental standards, enable more efficient work, they wrote.
Magyar Posta recommends that customers submit their packages by December 18 at the latest to ensure timely delivery of Christmas shipments. It is possible to send and receive parcels at approximately 3,500 postal points across the country – in the company’s own postal network, postal partnerships and MPL parcel machines – they added.
