Századvég: the economy may expand with 3.6 percent this year and with 3.4 percent in 2018
According to the latest forecast of the Századvég Gazdaságkutató Zrt. economic researcher, the Hungarian economy in 2018 may grow by 3.4 percent this year and by 3.6 next year. If certain conditions are met the Hungarian economy may even exceed the 4 percent growth.
The research institute in its forecast sent to MTI on Wednesday explained: the engine for growth this year and next year might by consumption and the investments. The increase in consumption is caused by the increase in households’ disposable income, which is attributable to the favorable labor market developments (falling unemployment, rising wages). Wages are expected to increase by an average of 10 percent. (MTI)
