Századvég: two-thirds of the dairy companies are planning developments in the next 2-3 years
About two-thirds of milk producers and processors are planning investments in the next 2-3 years, focusing on technological developments and energy efficiency, according to research conducted by Századvég Konjunktúratokutató Zrt. examining the situation of the Hungarian dairy sector.
In the analysis sent to MTI, the operation of the dairy supply chain, the cooperation of the companies operating in it, and the challenges affecting the sector were examined.
According to the survey conducted with the participation of more than half a hundred milk producing and processing companies, the lack of skilled labor and high operating costs are the biggest challenges for the sector players, as well as inequalities in the supply chain, between milk producers, processors and traders.
8 out of ten companies see the rise in energy prices as a significant problem, and 60 percent say that the labor shortage significantly or greatly affects dairy production.
They said: these challenges make it difficult to implement the developments necessary for growth and more efficient production and processing processes.
