Sausage volume sales up, too
In January-April 2014 processed meat retail sales exceeded HUF 77 billion, growing by 6 percent from months 1-4 in 2013. Salami and sausage were responsible for 11 percent of sales, just like a year before. Salami: values sales augmented by 9 percent and neared HUF 9 billion, but volume sales declined by 6 percent. Sausage sales (dry) improved by 7 percent and went above HUF 8 billion and volume sales also increased, by 1 percent. Volume weighted average prices in March-April 2014: salami – HUF 3,473/kg, sausage – HUF 2,068/kg.
