Hotel Association: tourism closed a successful year

Tourism closed a successful year in 2015 with an annual increase of 16 percent in tourist arrivals – the president of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (MSZÉSZ) told M1 news channel.

According to Niklai Ákos, the tourism sector has become economically important, it has a significant economic stimulus and job-creating role.

He explained that domestic tourism is very strong in rural areas, the spa, wellness and Castle Hotels, are very popular, while Budapest offers additional growth opportunities in terms of business and congress tourism, particularly if the new congress center will be completed in 2018 – he added.
