Szallas.hu: in the last weeks of the year, about half of the guests stay in wellness accommodation

In the last weeks of the year, about half of the guests relax in wellness accommodation, Siófok, Hévíz and Eger lead the top list in this accommodation category, every second wellness booking has a basket value of between 70-170 thousand forints – Szallas.hu told MTI on Monday based on its booking data.

The announcement stated that the proportion of domestic wellness bookings increased significantly in November and December compared to the previous months. In October, 34 percent of domestic bookings on the portal were for wellness accommodation, by November this ratio had increased to 42 percent and by December to 50 percent.

More than half of the wellness bookings in November-December had a basket value between 70,000 and 170,000 forints, and 27 percent of them amounted to no more than 70,000 forints. 15 percent of the bookings have a basket value of 170-270 thousand forints, while 7 percent exceed 270 thousand forints

– they wrote in the announcement.

They mentioned that Siófok, Hévíz and Eger are the most popular domestic wellness destinations among guests in the last months of the year. The top cities are followed in a tie by Zalakaros and Miskolc, then Hajdúszoboszló, Budapest, Gyula, Visegrád, Esztergom and Cserkeszőlő close the top 10. In the competition of regions, Northern Hungary leads, with a quarter of the wellness bookings in November-December going to this region. The Balaton region is second with 19 percent, and Western Transdanubia is third with 13 percent.

They added that three-quarters of domestic wellness travelers choose a hotel, and eight out of ten also request catering. Two-thirds of the reservations are for two people, with Hévíz being the most popular destination. For those traveling with children, however, Siófok is the most popular. Most guests plan a two-night stay, but the proportion of three-night stays is also significant, they highlighted.
