Szallas.hu: Balaton attracted the most Hungarian guests in the second quarter
Every fifth domestic reservation was in the Balaton area in the second quarter, according to Szallas.hu data. Around the Hungarian sea, Siófok, Hévíz and Balatonfüred were the most popular, and Budapest, Siófok and Eger in the national total. In July, Balaton’s traffic continues to pick up, with more than a third of pre-bookings going there.
Although we had two long weekends with outstanding results in the spring months thanks to Easter and Whitsunday, and the spring break was also so dated, in the end June was the most popular month in the second quarter on Szallas.hu according to the booking data.
“In the second quarter, 38 percent of our reservations were for June, 34 percent for May, and 28 percent for April”
– said Lili Kelemen, Szallas.hu press spokesperson. Based on the summary of the accommodation agency portal, the 1-2 night stay was by far the most popular during this period.
“40 percent of our reservations were for one night, 36 percent for 2 nights”
– detailed the press spokesperson. Hotels and apartments finished head to head, with both types of accommodation chosen for 29 percent of bookings.
Among the largest domestic tourist regions, Balaton came out on top, with every fifth booking, travelers chose the Hungarian sea on the Szallas.hu website.
