Their programme summarises the results of the past five years and outlines the strategy for the coming period. The efficient operation of the training workshop was a key strategic objective of MCI. It operates at full capacity and by renewing the master training and examination system, the craft union has succeeded in restoring the true status of the “master” degree, with several master confectioners passing their exams here.

Promoting artisan confectionery has always been an important part of MCI’s goals, which they have backed with a new, modern image and professional communication. In addition to the best-known competitions (Cake of Hungary, Ice Cream of the Year, Bejgli of the Year), they also organised new national and regional competitions, such as the Budapest 150 Cake contest and the Ice Cream Adventure, launched as part of the SIRHA Budapest trade fair.

MCI also wishes to focus on new tasks such as revamping its website (www.cukraszat.net), increasing the economic resilience of domestic confectionery businesses, improving its digital presence – organising training for website development, online ordering systems and social media presence, making the confectionery profession more attractive to young people, establishing closer cooperation with vocational training centres and technical schools to develop a more practice-oriented and modernised curriculum.
