Customers can get advice from an expert
Lidl Hungary is taking another step towards further popularizing and promoting responsible pet ownership: in collaboration with a veterinary expert, it is sharing tips and advice on healthy pet nutrition in its new online pet food catalog.
Animal welfare has long been an important topic for Lidl Hungary, as demonstrated by the fact that in 2016 it launched its Telitálka initiative, with which it aims to draw attention to the importance of responsible pet ownership in its regularly announced social media campaigns. In addition, Lidl Hungary was the first food chain to join the Hungarian Animal Welfare Code, which was launched by the Animal Welfare Law, Analysis and Methodology Center of the University of Veterinary Medicine. The discount chain has thus strengthened its commitment to animal protection based on professional foundations and cooperation.
Customers can get advice from an expert
In April this year, Lidl took another important step in terms of promoting animal welfare: veterinarian Dr. Pálma Piller joined its team of experts. In addition to treating small pets, she also considers it her mission to promote responsible pet ownership:
“I believe that together, with the power of the community and by sharing knowledge, we can achieve change, help owners and indirectly animals. I am sure that there will be more and more conscious and responsible owners who can provide a healthy, happy life for their pets and take responsibility for them.”
As part of her cooperation with Lidl, the doctor will share important tips based on her professional knowledge and experience regarding healthy pet nutrition in the company’s new, thematic online catalog. Lidl’s pet food catalogue, the first in a year-long, continuously updated content series, presents all of the private label pet foods available in Lidl stores and their benefits in one publication. Customers will regularly encounter new educational content and products throughout the year.
“It is of utmost importance for Lidl to offer quality food, as we influence the health of our customers through our products. However, healthy nutrition is important not only for us, but also for our four-legged friends. The right food contributes greatly to our pets being more active, healthier and happier,”
– emphasized Judit Tőzsér, Head of Corporate Communications.
Lidl’s private label pet foods are therefore made from carefully selected, quality ingredients to ensure a balanced diet for pets. Whether it’s treats, dry food or wet food, every owner can find the perfect choice for their pet.
