To this day, the drone society is very divided by the so-called “drone law” adopted two years ago, which introduced stricter rules than ever before. Although anyone can still fly a drone, many conditions must be met, so it is necessary to plan in advance according to the purpose of drone flying and the specific operational category. If, for example, drone activity can be classified as a special operational category, an operational license is required, which usually takes 60 days, not to mention the additional cost of nearly HUF 100,000. These are all factors that highlight the importance of prior information and the involvement of experts – draws attention to the expert of GeoLayer Kft., which deals with drone aerial surveys.

The use of drones – or unmanned aerial vehicles as they are less commonly known – for recreational and economic purposes has enjoyed great popularity in recent years. Its most common use is primarily related to imaging. In addition to the entertainment industry, its ability to take photos and videos from the sky is primarily used by the construction industry (geodesic and topographic surveys, making maps, project monitoring), the real estate sector (making aerial photos and videos), and the energy industry (inspection of solar panels with thermal cameras), and in addition, it is increasingly comes to the fore in the agricultural sector, where it is used, among other things, for map assessment of plant health and spraying.
