Romanian retail sales increased significantly
The volume of Romanian retail sales increased in January by 15.6 percent, compared to January 2015 – the Romanian national statistical institute announced on Thursday.
The increase is mainly due to the increase in food, drinks and tobacco sales that increased by 26.8 percent compared to last January. Non-food sales grew by 10.8 percent, while fuel sales by 5.8 percent.
However, in January the volume of retail sales fell by more than 24 percent compared to the previous month, which can be explained by the high December sales. (MTI)
