German exports increased significantly
Germany’s trade surplus grew to record heights in March, after exports increased higher than expected, while imports decreased.
According to the preliminary data of the German Statistical Office (Destatis) published on Tuesday, the value of exports increased in March by 1.9 percent, to 101.3 billion euros, compared to the previous month, sboth easonally and calendar adjusted, while imports decreased by 2.3 percent, to 77.6 billion euros, so the trade balance surplus amounted to 23.6 billion euros, which is the highest value since August 1990.
