Syngenta: almost 100,000 tons of Hungarian melon at domestic markets this year
60 percent of the 150-160 thousand tons of watermelon and 12.5 thousand tons of melon produced in Hungary can go to the domestic markets, Syngenta told MTI.
The pesticide and seed producer is expecting a good quality crop this year, the early sown melons have already hit stores.
Supermarket chains are looking for melons under ten kilograms, the heavier ones are usually sold in traditional sales markets, they added. (MTI)
