Syngenta: by modernizing, the Hungarian sunflower production could significantly expand

Hungarian farmers could harvest a lot more sunflowers on an unchanged production area, so it is worthwhile to modernize production, Syngenta’s analysis told MTI.

Upgrading production could increase sunflower yield

The seed company justified its expectations with experimental results. They remind you that the best yields have already reached 6-7 tons per hectare, although in 2019 Hungary reached the world record with just over 3 tons, so it was ranked 9th at the top of the global rankings, even with its relatively small production area. China, Russia and other large producers are harvesting just 2 tonnes per hectare, they wrote. (MTI)
