Nébih closed a restaurant in Debrecen due to serious food safety risks
During the inspection of a restaurant in Debrecen, experts from the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) found hygienic conditions and monitoring deficiencies that posed a serious food safety risk, and due to the violations, the unit’s activities were suspended with immediate effect, the authority informed MTI on Wednesday.
The activities of the affected business were suspended from May 14 to May 27. The restaurant was able to continue its activities after correcting the deficiencies and following a favorable on-site inspection by the authority; the procedure and the imposition of the fine are in progress – the office announced.
Describing the case of the Pálma restaurant operated by Nagyerdő Projekt Kft., Nébih stated that traces of rodents and insects were found in several rooms, including in the warehouses used for food storage. The hand washers did not work properly everywhere, and there was no hand sanitizer or dishwashing liquid with the disinfectant effect required by law in the restaurant.
