Stella Artois: the shining star of Christmas
Many years ago, the popular Belgian Artois brewery delighted the inhabitants of Leuven with a special Christmas beer, which both in flavors and both in appearance fit perfectly to the holiday mood. The beer later received the name Stella (Latin for star means), thus symbolizing the shining light that crowns the Christmas gatherings.
The Leuven brewery is operating for hundreds of years in. In 1926, the Leuven brewery dreamed up a special brew, which was initially only intended for a temporary, Christmas beer. The beer, which was called Stella, has such a big popularity following the introduction that the brewery decided to market it throughout the year.
