GfK’s German consumer sentiment index stagnated
Instead of the expected decline, the Nuremberg-based GfK Economics Research Institute’s consumer sentiment index stagnated in September in Germany, while consumer income and economic expectations declined and willingness to buy increased again.
Based on a survey of about two thousand people, the index stood at 9.7 points in August and may remain at 9.7 points in September, according to Gfk. Analysts predicted a slight decline of 9.6 points for September. (MTI)
