The Hungarian sweetcorn segment is firmly first in Europe
Despite the coronavirus pandemic and uncertain weather, there is stable demand for Hungarian sweetcorn. This year, producers can harvest about half a million tonnes of the popular vegetables from 30,000 hectares. Most of the crop is made from various manufacturing products, which are sought-after exports. The good news for farmers is that with the introduction of new varieties, a virus that reduces the yield of the plant has been greatly curbed, Syngenta said at a professional event in Kaba.
