Sales remained stable last year
In November-December 2014 retail sales of Christmas gift packs containing body care products valued at about HUF 4 billion, with 2.4 million such packs sold. In the same period of 2013 there had been a 19-percent sales growth, after which sales practically remained stable: value sales were down 1 percent and volume sales dropped 3 percent. In these packs shower gel has been the most popular element for years, followed by roll-on deodorant, hand and body cream. The average gift pack cost HUF 1,770 in the examined period, 3 percent more than in 2013. HUF 1,000-1,499 gift packs were the most popular: sales of these exceeded HUF 1.5 billion, growing by 3 percent to reach a market share of 40 percent (in value).
