In addition to the consortium leader Sole-Mizo, Medifood Hungary Innovation Kft. and the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) are participating in the project, MTI said in a statement on Tuesday. The recently started research and development project will last three years. In the framework of the project, based on Sole-Mizo Zrt.’s knowledge in the field of milk protein production and development, MATE’s food science research capabilities, and Medifood Hungary Innovation Kft.’s knowledge in the field of clinical formulas, a special MPI/MPC-based protein mixture is produced. Milk protein isolates/concentrates (MPI/MPC) are protein preparations produced by the dairy industry, which are used, among other things, in sports and in medicine. They are still produced in high quality and in large quantities at the plant of Sole-Mizo Zrt.
In the course of the program, the consortium will develop a labeling system and a related certification mark, which objectively and scientifically supports the protein nutritional value of food products and protein preparations, as well as foods containing them and formulas intended for special medical purposes – Sole-Mizo Zrt.
