SPAR Hungary will not sell eggs from cage holdings from 2025
Slovenian, Croatian, Italian and Hungarian members of the SPAR Austria group will not sell eggs from cage holdings from 2025 at the latest.
At the same time, they will expand the range of eggs from free keeping and bio farming. In Austria, SPAR has not been supplying eggs from cage holdings since 2004.
Until now, the lack of production capacity in some countries has hindered the earlier shift. In order to enable the suppliers to make the necessary transformations and investments necessary for the transition, SPAR will reduce the proportion of eggs from cage holdings by 10 percent in the future.
