Spar: the manufacturer is responsible for the packaging and for the marking

On the basis of the current Hungarian laws, the manufacturer is responsible for the packaging and for the placed markings – informed the Spar Hungary Ltd. the MTI.

The notice was published in connection that the company became the subject of the “Hungarian goods made in China” article of the Magyar Nemzet newspaper. According to the statement of Spar Hungary Ltd.; the company concluded a supply contract for the transportation of the packaged beans and hulled barley with the Hungarian PA-COMP Ltd..

The packaging was carried out by the Hungarian supplier and products markings were also placed by them. In order to protect the supplier, the company’s statement notes; the supplier indicated the country of origin on the package and highlighted, that the packaging was made in Hungary. The national colored tape on the packaging is the own decision of the Hungarian supplier – reports Privatbankar.hu.
