Spain is the EU’s most popular tourist destination
Spain was the most popular country for tourists in the European Union in 2015, according to statistics published by the European Union’s Statistical Office, Eurostat for 2015.
Last year nearly 270 million guest nights were spent by foreign travelers in Spain. Italy is the second most popular tourist destination with 192.6 million guest nights, followed by France with 130.5 million guest nights, the United Kingdom with 118 million guest nights and Austria on fifth place with 80.3 million guest nights.
